(Sometimes they are few and far between).\u00a0 A\u00a0friend, <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/UnlimitedLeads\" target=\"_blank\">@UnlimitedLeads<\/a>,\u00a0posed a great question:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>What are my three biggest goals for 2010?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Now I have to be honest: I hadn&#8217;t\u00a0taken the time to sit down and write out a list of goals for 2010.\u00a0 That&#8217;s not to say I didn&#8217;t come up with a list of goals, I just didn&#8217;t write them down.<\/p>\n<p>Goals are so much more tangible and somehow more meaningful when you can hold them in your hand and look at them with your own eyes.\u00a0\u00a0Writing out a list of goals makes you much more likely to commit to accomplishing them.\u00a0 Making a\u00a0 list of goals\u00a0to accomplish is vital for personal success.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Listing\u00a0goals\u00a0is no less important for the growth and prosperity of a chiropractic practice.\u00a0 If you haven&#8217;t done so I urge you to take 5 or 10 minutes and write out\u00a0a list of 10 goals for you and your chiropractic practice for 2010.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This morning&#8217;s innocent tweet\u00a0was great because it also\u00a0made me think in a different frame of mind.\u00a0 I\u00a0generally spend a lot of time setting very specific\u00a0goals.\u00a0 Specificity is great, but this morning I realize it can\u00a0sometimes hinder your potential for success when it comes to setting goals.<\/p>\n<p>There is a certain creativity that is lost if you only make a list of specific goals.\u00a0 This morning I was challenged to list my three biggest goals for 2010.\u00a0 This forced me to come up with a list of 3 broad goals for 2010.\u00a0 The beauty of making broad goals is the door is left wide open as to how you go about meeting these goals. What a great way to get those creative juices flowing!<\/p>\n<p>I encourage you to make 2 separate lists of goals for your chiropractic practice for 2010.\u00a0 Make the first a list of 10 or so specific goals.\u00a0 You can be very specific and detailed.\u00a0 List statistics you want to meet or exceed and even describe exactly how you plan to accomplish these goals.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Make your second list 3 broadly defined goals for your chiropractic practice.\u00a0 These can be as simple as:\u00a0 &#8220;improve the chiropractic knowledge of my patients&#8221; or &#8220;learn a new treatment technique to offer my chiropractic patients&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>I think this will work great for you in 2010.\u00a0 Now that we have our lists we need to keep them somewhere they won&#8217;t be lost and forgotten.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve copied my lists and posted them at home and the office.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve even posted my three main goals on the dry erase board in my office for all patients to see!\u00a0 I can think of no\u00a0better\u00a0way to stay on purpose and\u00a0focused then having my\u00a0chiropractic patients\u00a0holding\u00a0me accountable!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Happy 2010 @UnlimitedLeads and thanks for a great tweet that made me think!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Now I&#8217;d like to know YOUR goals.\u00a0 Tell me readers, what are your 3 main goals for 2010?\u00a0<\/strong> Take the <a href=\"http:\/\/twtpoll.com\/r\/fwutwj\" target=\"_blank\">poll<\/a> here, use the form below, or contact us!\u00a0 I look forward to hearing and discussing all of your great responses!<\/p>\n<p><script src=\"http:\/\/twtpoll.com\/js\/badge.js\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><script src=\"http:\/\/twtpoll.com\/badge\/?twt=fwutwj&amp;b=1\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>-Dr. James<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So this morning I sat down to check some messages and tweets on Twitter and IT happened: . . .\u00a0One of those rare 140 character or less tweets that engages you and makes you think.
